| DAVID KIDD |
|
David "Billy the" Kidd was born in Brisbane, Queensland in 1971 (yes, that makes him the oldest tenor). A love for his state of birth saw him involve himself with as many organizations as he could containing its name: the Queensland University of Technology, the Queensland Youth Orchestra, the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, the Queensland Youth Choir, Opera Queensland, the Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra. (David really loves Queensland.) He also loves to travel. In his life, he's lived in London, Edinburgh, Oxford and Durham, North Carolina. Before joining The Ten Tenors in 1998, David was a member of the dubiously authentic mariachi band, the Kundelini Brothers; a cappela group, The Clefhangers and numerous other bizarre and sometimes silly vocal groups that have slipped into the mists of historical obscurity. An interest in children's theatre has seen David write and perform in a number of concerts and plays for small people and an interest in professional public embarrassment has involved him dressing as pirates, leprechauns, Santa, cavemen, clowns, and Elvis in places where lots of people can see him. David enjoys wind-surfing, single malt-whiskey, going to movies and working on his novel (really) but he never knows what to write in his bio. |
